Our Europe trip begins in Rome

Here we are outside of the Colosseum on our first day. We stayed in a fantastic pension right around the corner from the Spanish Steps. It was a great location on a street surrounded by cafes. I sure do miss the cappuccinos!

Adam was our guide through ancient Rome - the Rick Steves travel books were a life saver - we were able to read about exactly what we were looking at so that we could have a better appreciation.

We visited the Trevi fountain and threw coins into the fountain to ensure our return back.

Here is my mom an I ready for a night out in Rome on our 2nd day - it was pouring down rain.

We visited Vatican City and walked through the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel followed by St. Peter's Basicila. Here we are standing in the Basicila - it is huge!
