Salzburg, Austria

We took a night train from Venice to Salzburg, Austria to spend the day in Austria. We arrived in Salzburg at 4:30am and it was cold and rainy and not much was open yet. We finally found a place open for breakfast where we hung out until our Sound of Music Tour at 9:30am.

Here we are on the Sound of Music Tour. They take you way back to the countryside of Salzburg with beautiful hills and lakes. We saw the Von Trapp house, the church where the wedding took place at the end of the movie and many other sites from the movie.

We had the afternoon to ourselves in Salzburg. It was a fairly cool day. The fans began pouring in for one of the Euro '08 soccer games that evening.

We also began our long stint of eating Sausages & pretzels...
