Christmas Season - the Summary Post

Playing catch up on blogging can be quite overwhelming, so I am just going to do a quick catch up blog post that has a little bit of everything for the Christmas Season and then start fresh for the new year with a goal to have an average of one new post a week. (We will see how I do:)

Over the Christmas Season, we went to our fair share of parades, Christmas light displays and holiday events to get us in the spirit.:)

Checking out a local Christmas light display that made it onto the news this year!

At the Villa Park Boat Parade (it is on land, not on water:)

At our neighborhood trolley ride. This year Mabury Ranch organized a trolley ride through the neighborhood to look at Christmas lights. While we waited our turn for the trolley there was baked goods and Santa was there and music, etc. Such a great event!

Even Grammy & Grumpy's front yard was decorated for Christmas:)

We celebrated Hanukkah too at Grandma's house. The cousins loved playing dreidel together.

There was an event at my work called Breakfast with Santa where everyone got to bring their family in for a morning of games, crafts, lots of food, pictures with Santa, balloon artists, face painting, etc. It was so much fun and Paige got to see her friend Ryann there and her friend Travis.
Here is a cute picture of Paige and Ryann. They held hands and walked all over the place together:)

A few of Paige's pictures with Santa. This year Paige got to go to Santa's workshop and play there with him while they snapped a few pictures. So much fun!

Christmas Eve at Grammy & Grumpy's.....Paige found HER stocking!:)

Santa came! Check out the loot Paige got this year. She was a really good girl this year and made it on the nice list once again. She had been asking for a basketball hoop (not quite sure how that idea stuck). She came out on Christmas morning and didn't see it at first since it was hidden in the back. When she saw it she was so excited!

So, what does a two year old girl play with on Christmas morning after getting all new toys from Santa?....The bag that mommy's gift came in!:)

We spent much of our Christmas vacation doing projects around the house, including on New Year's Eve, but we stopped for a few hours to celebrate and had a "fancy" party at our house. We all got dressed up, decorated, prepared  hors d' ouevres and sipped "champagne" to bring in the New Year!

A perfect start to 2012!
