A River of Rain

This past week southern California experienced "the biggest storm in 10 years" (the weather reporters said this and has not been checked as being factual).

We had so many puddles in our yard, but luckily did not have any major tragedy's as some people experienced here. Could you imagine having your entire home covered in mud from mud slides?!? That is just awful!

One neat thing is that the area across from our house that is normally a dry creek bed became a rushing river!! Honestly, you could have taken a white water raft out there! I guess they had to open up a dam from the Irvine  Lake nearby and water came down from there...it was quite impressive!

We took a nice family walk across the street to take a look and when Paige saw it she said "bridge". There isn't a bridge, but you are right, Paige....we sure needed one. It as sad because we saw a coyote that was stuck on one side of the river and we could tell that he was not happy about it. (Look closely and you can see the coyote in the picture below)
