Paige was so excited for her big girl bed. We thought we would be able to hold out longer and keep her in her crib for as long as possible (mostly for mommy and daddy's sake of having control when she comes out:), but ever since Grumpy put her in a big girl bed that is all she talked about. She kept telling us that "we have to buy one" and "look, there is plenty of room" she would say while standing in her room:)
We thought she would be disappointed when the day came and she realized that all we were doing is taking a wall off of her crib, but, oh no!! She was THE MOST excited we have ever seen her:) We told her that we were going to make her bed into a big girl bed and off she ran to get her tools (she has pretend tools and she knows what each of them do). She attacked that crib with her pliers, drill and saw:)
Earlier that day Adam had taken Paige to the bank where they deposited all the money from one of her piggy banks where she had been saving up for a big girl bed. She had saved $40.00!! - just enough for a big girl bed;)
So, we took off the wall (well, Adam did) and I pulled out her new bedding - oh my goodness was Paige excited at this point. She just loved getting up on her bed and scooting out on her own. She put every blanket she owns and all of her stuffed animals in.
Then, we all had to get in!:)
One happy girl!
All made up - in the morning we make up our bed "nice and neat":)
So, you are wondering how the first night went, huh? Well......she was happy and fell right asleep, but when we went in to check on her before bed we found her here on the floor:)
I was laughing so hard that I had to step out of the room - I just so didn't expect to find her here:)
We put her back into bed and she slept there all night..
Then our other question was, well, will she get out in the morning on her own or call for us like she usually does.....she called for us and stayed in bed and has for last couple mornings. We will see how long that lasts before she realizes that she can get out on her own. Yesterday morning she woke up at 5:30am (!!) so I went in there and told her that it was still night time and that she has to wait until the green light on her clock is on, so she went back to sleep until 6:45am (yay!)
