A Weekend at Home

We have been very busy this summer so far trying to squeeze as much in as we can on the weekend and evenings and decided we just needed to have a weekend at home.

I haven't been keeping up with the BLOG too much lately, but we have had a busy couple of weeks with going to Orange County Fair, attending a beautiful wedding for my friend, Emily, Paige has started swimming lessons and we started going to concerts in the park too.

Paige has just been wanting to stay home and play with her toys and that is just what we did!.........

I have been doing a little preschool program with Paige at home for a few weeks now and we have fun with that. This week we are going to be learning about stars, the letter G and the number 7, so that should be fun. We have activities that we do each week and we try to get to the library and find books about our theme too.

Paige can recognize all of her letters now,  but I like focusing on one a week so that we can really get the sound down that each letter makes, etc.

Last week we were learning about rainbow and the letters F, so on Saturday we ended the week by making a rainbow fish with balled up tissue paper and sequins for sparkly scales:) Paige did really well with this one and had fun!

Here is a picture of Paige with all of her puppies. The reason I have to include this picture is because this is just such a huge part of our daily life right now. Thes puppies go everywhere in their shopping cart. They have to be tucked in each night and then brought to breakfast each morning, etc.

So, what better thing to do than make a dog house for them?!? This was totally Paige's idea! So, we made a dog house and then decided to decorate it by cutting out shapes and gluing them on. Paige loves to use her scissors these days and is so proud when she cuts things (she still needs to learn how to hold them the right way:)

We also cut up some sponges into shapes and did some sponge painting - we will definitely be doing this one again - very fun!

hopefully she doesn't grow too much because she is already growing up too fast:)

We got lot's done around the house too this weekend. One of our big weekend projects was that Adam installed the electrical to have a light in the room that is right now used as Paige's playroom. So much nicer than having the standing light in the corner!
