Paige is 6 Months

Paige has already been with us for an entire half a year! We cannot even remember life without her!
All of our lives have changed so much and she has brought so much joy into our life. She puts all things in perspective.

A quote from one of the books we read sums up how we feel nicely...

"I can't imagine life before you came along...
me there singing senseless, no meaning to my song "

from the book "I Love You So"

6 Month Stats:
25.5 inches long and 16 lbs - both smack dab in the middle at the 5oth percentile.

Paige had such a fun doctor's visit (until the shots). Paige was sitting on the fun, crinkly paper when Dr Bruner opened the door and walked in and Paige lifted her hand and waved right at her. Dr. Bruner just melted when she saw that and couldn't believe that Paige was already waving. She was such a good girl and all checked out well.
Paige didn't understand why when she was so good, they still had to poke her 3 times!!:(
At least she got a new book that she could chew on:)

Eating:
Paige is still drinking about 28 - 32 oz of formula throughout the day and is now eating a full breakfast and dinner. For breakfast she eats a small amount of oatmeal and a little bit of apples or bananas. For dinner she eats a small amount of rice cereal with either green peas or sweet potatoes. We have not found a food yet that she does not like. She has tried some pumpkin too and next on the list is carrots. She also gets her sippy cup with water to play with (I mean drink from) after breakfast and dinner. Right now she is much more excited to eat food from a spoon than drink from a bottle. It is hard staying focused to drink a bottle when there are so many other things we would rather be doing.

Here are just a few of the things Paige is up to these days:
- Lots of push ups
- Rocking back and forth on all 4's
- Laughing at some of the silliest things (like when I pretend to have hiccups or cough) I think she is into the bodily functions jokes and will be able to "hang with guys" easily.

- Being ticklish around her neck, under her chin.
- Sitting up so good and straight and being able to play with all kinds of toys. She can go from sitting to on her tummy easily, but I am not sure how she is going to figure the other way out and sit up on her own.

- Her favorite toy right now is a little circle shaped rattle who we call "Ted" She always picks him first. Here is a picture of Ted.

- Her favorite book is a book of baby faces called "Eat!" that shows babies eating food. I think she thinks they are her friends:) She also loves her book of photos of people she knows.

- She loves playing peek-a-boo, but who doesn't? :)
- She can get a pretty good ponytail in her hair now:) So cute!

- She loves playing with any type of tag on toys, blankets, etc. She has some great toys, but the tags on them are just the best.
- She enjoys lots of her toys that play music, but I think her favorite songs are any that Rihanna sings. She used to dance around in my tummy whenever Rihanna would come on the radio while I was pregnant and even now when she hears one of her songs she gets really quiet and just listens:)
- Loves playing with shirt buttons

- Holding two different toys in her hand and banging them together to see what sound they make. She is really good at passing toys off between her hands too.

- Banging things on her highchair and when they fall off she looks for them now. We say "uh-oh" when things fall, so maybe she will pick up that saying (I always think it's so cute when babies say that:)

- She still sleeps really well through the night, with the occasional waking up too early and she naps about 3 - 4 hours a day.
- She loves bath time overall, but especially when we turn off the running water at the end of the bath and it get's quiet (every time she looks up and smiles) - so cute! She also just loves bring wrapped up in her towel (I would too!)

With how much she has changed over the first half of this year,
I can't believe how many changes we have coming up in the next 6 months
- it is going to be  fun time!
